Yes. Versa-lok is a company that supplies pre-formed blocks for retaining wall structures. The winners of the versa-lok design contest are usually people who use the most versa-lok possible on a site. If you see their contest winners from previous years it's just a sea of stone walls. There's an award-winning project around here that's a 35-foot high retaining wall next to an upscale suburban shopping center. Although I must say that the quality of their product has improved in recent years, the contest is more of a marketing tool than a way to judge good design.
