i know that the ASLA has review sessions/classes but have yet to attend or pursue.
Any knowledge/experience/words of encouragement out there? -

One more thing, since most of us end up taking this exam multiple times, unfortunately... If you will be studying with old materials, I think most of the reader content will still be relevant but take some time to review CLARB's new section divisions.
Without venting too much, let me just say there has been a major reshuffle. Sections A, B and D were all sort of reassembled in a new order, so you may need to restudy portions of the material for a section you thought you already passed in 2004 or 2005. There are a few new topics lurking in there as well, of course. I can help if you are having trouble figuring out what is what.
