new plant list: shade tolerant edibles? groundcovers?

I am hoping to generate a new plant list from all you botanic nerds. What is your favorite shade lover? I am in love with five fingered ferns. Their delicate fingers reach out from a hillside along lower Highway 9 in a mass that is simply gorgeous, I always slow down and wave back.
